Title I

Title I is a federally-funded program that is administered by states. Title I legislation is designed to improve the teaching and learning of children in high-poverty schools enabling them to meet challenging academic content and performance standards.

The major goal of Title I is to provide curriculum consultant services to the urban school districts operating Title I basic grants programs.

The objective is to promote continuous improvement of educational programs and strategies that will enable urban schools to provide opportunities for the children they serve.
